AquaStarz Bring Home First-Place Ribbons

The Davis AquaStarz were judged best in several figures categories as they met the Fulton-El Camino Stingrays in a dual meet July 1 at the Cottage Park Pool in Sacramento.

Intermediate swimmers Jessica Hughes and Elise Peauroi were first in figures in the ages 11-12 and 15-16 categories, respectively. Following Hughes was Clara Riggle with second place and Maddie Peauroi in third place. Following Elise Peauroi in fourth place in the ages 15-16 group was Anna Hollander.

Davis snagged three places in the Intermediates ages 13-14, with Emma Meades taking second, Alex Wong third, and Christy Kubota in fifth.

Jocelyn Cavins was first in the Novice ages 9-10 category, while Joanna Hughes was first in the under 8 group. Following Cavins was Tara Christensen in fifth place and Anna Riesenberg in sixth place. Mirielle Peauroi finished third in the under 8 category.

Rounding out the Davis finishers was Olivia Bristow in the Novice 11-12 group with third place, and Natalie Shuman in third and Kaitlynn Plaskett, fourth, in the Novice 12-14 age group.

The dual meets are warm-ups to the Valley-Foothills Competitive Aquatics League’s Synchronized Swimming Championships to be held July 18 and 19 in Auburn. Davis will compete against four regional teams in figures and routines during that meet.
