The Davis AquaStarz Synchronized Swimming Team brought home five first-place medals and a fourth-place team finish at the Valley Foothills Competitive Aquatics League Championships held in Auburn July 18-19.

The Davis team competed against teams from Rancho Cordova, Sunrise, Fulton-El Camino and the home team in Auburn.

Jocelyn Cavins’ first-place win in figures for Novices ages 9-10 makes her eligible to join the more advanced Intermediate team in Davis next season. Also moving up into Intermediates are Novice 13-14 group members Kaitlynn Plaskett with her third place win, Natalie Shuman who finished fourth and Eleanor Sperandio, who just joined the Davis team in the spring, with a seventh place win.

Plaskett also won first place in the 13 years and over Novice category for her solo routine to Pink Panther. Olivia Bristow also won first in the 12 and under solo group for her Star Wars routine.

In the 13 and over Novice duet routine group, Corina Kaufman and Sperandio took second place for James Bond, while Shuman and Plaskett teamed on Once Upon a Dream for third place.

Rounding out the Novice routines, Amelia Otto-Cutting and Cavins took fifth in the 12 years and under duet group, with their Harry Potter routine, and Helena Frazier and Natalia Kaufman were seventh for Happy Working Song.

In the Intermediate group, Elise Peauroi finished first in figures in the 15-16 group, with Anna Hollander taking sixth place in the same category. Also in figures, Maddie Peauroi took third, Clara Riggle, fifth, and Jessica Hughes, seventh, in the Intermediates 11-12 age group. Emma Meades finished sixth in the 13-14 age group in figures.

Meades, Christy Kubota and Alex Wong teamed in the highly competitive Intermediates trio routines group to take second place for their rendition of Twilight. Riggle, Maddie Peauroi and Hughes took fourth place in the same category for Pirates.

Jessalyn Eernisse and Elise Peauroi were awarded fourth place in the 15-18 age group for their Intermediate number Indiana Jones. Elise Peauroi also second place in the 15-18 age group for her solo to Narnia, while an unopposed Molly Thomas took first place for Cowboys solo in the 11-14 Intermediate group.

Davis also entered its first team routine in the Championships but received a 7th place win. Participating in that routine were Maddie and Elise Peauroi, Thomas, Kubota, Meades, Wong, Hollander and Eernisse.

Other Davis results included:
